Green Mountain Mayhem

We have these great shoots scheduled at the Lamoille Valley Fish and Game Club near Morrisville, VT:

We will have three shoots in 2024:

June 22-23, 2024 we will have a 10-stage 2-day CAS Shoot with set up on Friday and we will shoot some Wild Bunch after setting up. You can shoot six stages on Saturday and four on Sunday or shoot all ten stages on Saturday and make another CAS shoot on Sunday. We also have an option to shoot the match as a Wild Bunch category, using the same CAS stages with 5 round magazines in the 1911. Registration at the clubhouse 8-9 AM. Safety Meeting at 9:15 on the skeet field. Free dry camping on the range as always.

July 19-21, 2024 we will host the 2024 SASS Vermont State CAS Championship "Green Mountain Mayhem" 10-stages with side events on Friday.

September 21-22, 2024 we will host our annual Josie Wales Shoot where you can use 4 pistols and a shotgun for all stages. Josie Wales shooters also shoot under more open rules, any SASS style anytime. Think of it as B-Western without the costume. Gunfighter, one handed, two handed, switching anytime you wish. The match is designed as 6 stages Saturday and 4 on Sunday. You may shoot all 10 Saturday so you can have Sunday for something else. Or if you really want a lot of shooting, you can shoot 10 Saturday and then shoot the last 4 over again with the rest of us. Wild Bunch is also available as a category, with 5 round mags. Want Josey Bunch? 4 mags and a shotgun? OK! Dry camping on the range is available as always with lots of room on a fairly flat grassy area. The clubhouse is also open.
Secondly, I’ve had a request for an RO II class. We’ll have that on Friday afternoon 9/20 after we finish the match set-up. Please let me know if you plan to attend ASAP so I know what to prepare.

Friday, July 19, 2024 (Side Events)

8:00 am - 3:00 pm: Registration (Clubhouse)

9:15 am - 12:00 noon: 3-stage Wild Bunch Match -
Wild Bunch will be under the 2024 SASS Wild Bunch rules, but with the addition of a Vigilante Category which will allow any period correct firearm! If you want a BAMM style rifle, etc. just load it down to SASS specs so we don’t ruin steel!

12:00 - 3:00 pm: 2-stages of Warm-Up

12:00 - 3:00 pm: Speed Events

1:00 -3:30 pm: 3-Stage Plainsman Match

1:00 -3:00 pm : Cowboy Skeet or some shotgun game (Skeet Field)

4:00 pm: Cowboy Range closes for the day

4:00 pm: Posse Marshal Walk Through

6:00 pm: Casual Pot Luck (Clubhouse)

7:00 am - 8:00 am: Registration open (Clubhouse)

8:30 am - 8:45 am: Opening Ceremony, Safety Meeting (Stage 3)

9:00 am - 4:00 pm: Shoot first 6 Stages - break for lunch after the 4th stage.

4:30 pm: Cowboy Ranges - close for the day

6:00 pm: Pot Luck Dinner, raffle, side event awards. (Clubhouse)
